Fees and Rebates

Sessions last 50 to 55 minutes. Details of the fee schedule can be obtained by contacting us on (02) 8287 1227.

The fee is payable at the end of session. We accept payment through an automated billing system using Visa or MasterCard, alternatively we can accept cash at the time of the appointment.

No referral is necessary unless you wish to claim on Medicare.

Medicare

Medicare subsidises treatment by a Clinical Psychologist through the Better Access Scheme. You may be eligible to receive a rebate of $137.05 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year through this scheme. The provision of the additional 10 sessions under COVID provisions ceased 31 December 2022. Medicare now subsidises both face-to-face and tele-health sessions.

To access a rebate from Medicare you will need to see your GP prior to your session. When you book with your GP it is helpful to let them know that you are seeking a Mental Health Care Plan (item 2710). You are likely to need a longer appointment and it is wise to book well in advance. At your GP appointment they will ask you about your mental health concerns, how long they have been affecting you and they may also ask you to complete some brief questionnaires. A specialist such as a psychiatrist or a paediatrician may also refer you for psychological services under the Medicare scheme.

Please ensure that your doctor’s referral indicates the number of sessions that they are referring you for and the clinician they are referring you to. Referrals are usually valid for 12 months.

Private Health Funds

Most private health funds also offer rebates for psychological therapy. You will need to contact your health fund directly to find out what you are covered for and what rebates they will provide.

If you or your child is eligible for NDIS benefits under a privately managed fund, you may be able to claim your receipts through your fund. Please check with your fund manager. We are not a registered NDIS provider.

Please note: Only one rebate can be claimed for each session and you will need to choose whether to claim under Medicare, your private health fund or NDIS.
